Yesterday being a beautiful spring day, we, being on spring break, headed to the foothills to enjoy ourselves in one of our favorite places: Columbia Historical Park. After strolling down main street, hiking uphill to visit the old school house and cemetery, then quenching our thirst with a spot of tea at the cozy tea house, we stopped by the gold mine to look for a bit of color. Calico looked askance at her teacher during his entire goldpanning lesson, but I think it was his get-up, not his words, that provoked the skepticism. On their way to the gold fields, he showed them a Wanted: Dead or Alive poster sporting his visage. He claimed the villain was his identical twin, but Calico wasn't buying it. Thursday, April 8, 2010
